Hull, or Hull City Tigers, will be doing extremely well not to finish rock bottom of the league. Steve Bruce’s team were the lowest scorers in the Championship’s top 10 last season, so the Tigers brought in strikers Yannick Sagbo and Danny Graham to address this. George Boyd has made his loan permanent, and Allan McGregor coming in for £1.5m is an absolute steal. McGregor will have his gloves kept warm this year though as only Curtis Davies and Maynor Figueroa have Premier League experience. Sadly, Steve Bruce will be the first manager to be sacked this season and Hull will finish rock bottom.
Key Player: Allan McGregor. The 31 year old has Champions League and International experience and will need to draw upon it to keep Hull up. The phrase ‘baptism of fire’ comes to mind, as Hull are away to Chelsea and Manchester City in their first 3 games, so expect McGregor to be busy from the off.
One to Watch: George Boyd. Having worked his way up from League 2 with Peterborough, the Scottish international will finally get to prove himself in the Premier League. A gifted midfielder, Boyd has the vision to both create and score goals, something Hull will require this season. He has been one of the most talented players outside of the Premier League until now so, even if Hull go down, expect Boyd to stay in the top flight.
